At nine months of age, a baby is beginning to reveal its character. No longer fragile and uncertain, it has found stability. Baby is starting to sit upright, exploring its surroundings, and even pulling itself to stand. It is a stage defined by curiosity, connection, and early independence.
At nine months old, AIEOU is at a similar point in its growth.
We have moved beyond the earliest steps of establishment and are now beginning to move with purpose. Like a baby testing out crawling or pulling up, our hub has learned to balance itself while reaching ambitiously into new areas of collaboration.
Our interdisciplinary curiosity has been a defining trait. Just as infants explore the world with hands, eyes, and voices, AIEOU has experimented across methods, disciplines, and perspectives, asking bold questions and testing creative approaches to see what resonates.
We are also building stronger connections. A baby delights in familiar faces and begins to cautiously engage with new ones. So too, AIEOU has consolidated its founding community while starting to welcome new collaborators, networks, and audiences.
Excitingly, our conversations are coming alive. A baby’s babbling may not yet form full sentences, but it carries energy, intention, and the foundations of language. In the same way, AIEOU’s dialogues and projects are beginning to generate shared vocabulary and frameworks, pointing toward the more sophisticated structures to come.
At this stage, we are both explorers and builders: willing to take risks and play with ideas, while anchoring ourselves in a sense of purpose and vision. Our momentum is unmistakable, and the trajectory is clear.
Nine months in, AIEOU is full of life, possibility, and forward motion. The foundation is set and the journey ahead shows great promise.
We are so grateful to everyone that has contributed to our growth to date.
As reflect on the journey so far and look to the future of AIEOU, we are inviting all current collaborators to complete this progress review by the end of the month.
Together, we can continue to evolve AIEOU.
If you are not yet part of AIEOU but would like to be, please join us here.
